I have a extra ferguson drawbar that fits under the rearend casing use's the four 5/8 holes that are tapped in the bottom. I been getting 125.00 for the complete unit. This much nicer than the after market ones. I can email you pics of it on and off of the tractor. Scott

I am interested in this; please post a picture or email me at wallaces at superaje dot com.
How thick is the bottom plate with the four bolt holes? The reason I ask is that I recently removed those four bolts and they are surprisingly short. Do you normally recommend people replace with longer 5/8" bolts?
Where are you and what type of $ are you quoting?
Thanks,
Jim

Those setscrews in the bottom were just to keep the holes clean Jim..not long enough to fasten anything with. With a drawbar kit you would get correct length screws.

On the dirt scoop: I used mine to excavate a 600 foot driveway 8" deep. They are good when facing forward at digging 4-8" at a time in packed soil and 12-16" for loose stuff. I usually had the scoop full after going about 8feet or so and every time it seemed like a small load I'd remember that scoop held about 30 shovels full of dirt!

I didn't have good luck reversing the scoop and backing into packed dirt (not much bite) plus I was afraid of breaking my 3pt arms.

I also have a scoop it was made by Ford and is a heavy duty unit ,i used it a lot for moving rock on a new driveway ,it is not much use going backwards on solid ground ,but for certain jobs it is handy you have to be careful on mine when you pull the release leaver if the load is not equalized in the bucket ,i still like it though ,its in a 1952to30 with the tires filled with fluid for extra weight good luck

I'd like to ask dantc what he means "you have to be careful on mine when you pull the release leaver if the load is not equalized in the bucket"- is there something I don't know and should be careful about? Paul

Paul,
one time i had a large rock which had the heavy end at the back of the bucket so when i pulled the release lever nothing happened in other words it wouldnt tip to empty the bucket ,i had my young son sit on the tractor and pull the lever while i stood on the edge of the bucket to add weight so that it would swing down, well it swung down all right almost too quickly for me to get out of the way ,if you get one of these scoops just be careful practice with it and get to understand its limitations
good luck

I bought an inexpensive dirt scoop-a King Kutter and was pleasantly surprised as to the amount of work I could do with it. I began by taking the crown off my tractor trails and using that dirt to build up a raised garden. I slid it under heavy rocks and moved them where I wanted them. When the bucket faces the driver (you can set the bucket up to face either toward the operator or away from the operator) -it will dig- when adjusted properly. I really like my scoop and it works well on my TEA. Paul

You should have a draw bar but if you don't you can buy them that way you have the 3 point and a draw bar. As far as the dirt scoop I have one but don't use it, its more of a joke then much good, and when you have a loader why use it. If you need the parts for the draw bar send me an e-mail and I'll give you a phone number for a place that should have them.

I made a drawbar for my to30 2 inches wide steel 26 or 28 inches long. Its shorter then the boughton ones thats because it would not interfear with 3 point attachments. It should be 2 1\2 inches wide and 1 inch thick mine is only 3/4 thick. As for a dirt scoop I dug up a large rotten tree stump for my neighbor past summer. had a hole 3 to 4 foot deep to got under it all the way around it a small pond I called it. Then lifted it with loader tiped it over drag it to burn pile.I was impressed with the dirt scoop. I thinking about digging a small pond this next summer with it now that have fergie rebuild head on it have running good.
