I bought a TO35 and haven't used it yet. I have a 9n and don't understand how to use the newer position and draft controls. It's a 1959. Does it have a locking rear axle? What other differences does it have besides live pto and power and double the horses. I can hardly wait to use it. I live on mountainous land and hope I don't kill myself with both brake pedals being on just one side.

This might be known to you already but if your land is mountainous as you say you can reverse the rear wheels to give you a bigger wheel base.

I used to drive tractors on very steep land and this was a bonus as it feels a lot safer.

You wont kill yourself with it..they are easy to drive. Not all have a diff-lock, if it has it will have an extra pedal on the right side of the rear axle.If you want to know how to operate the hydraulic system correctly let me have an email address and I will send you an instruction sheet that will cover it.

Thanks guys. I wanted a Ford 861 w/power steering and a front end loader, but didn't find one. I like the Ferguson better and I'm looking into adding power steering. I doubt if it has diff. lock but I will look. My farm is 125 miles away but I will be there tomorrow and spend some time getting aquainted with the little jewel. I'm a little worried about raising the lift arms too high.

The 35MF is one the very best tractors ever mfg. especialy if has the 3cyl Perkins diesel. Water up the tires and they will go almost anywhere a mountain goat can and some places they can't. Make sure the lift arms don't go all the way to the top. If you hear th pressure relief valve spiting off, you could be flirting with disaster, should there ever be ice in the PRV from condensation the complete lift housing can explode and throw scrapnel 200ft.

Hi Alvin, I read your mail to John, if your lift arms are going so high, the settings are incorrect or you have the draft lever at the top of the quadrant, really you shouldnt get any problems like that if its operated correctly. I have sent him an instruction sheet for the hydraulics so he shouldnt have any problems at all. (famous last words huh!)

Hello John, sometimes children will play, or tamper with them and leave both levers at the top, Then if you go out and start the motor, and leave while it is warming up things can happen. Have a nice day. alvin n Mississippi
