Hi all,
The tach cable end was broken off in my tractormeter and after working on it for a while it is probably beyond repair. Since the MH-50 is pretty much the same tractor with the exception of the sheetmetal, would this mean that the tractormeters are also? I am just assuming that the MH-50 is also a 3 speed with H/L range.
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi J.B.
Thanks for the input. Does the MF-50 also have 6 speeds? I don't care if the tractormeter is an original but I would like for it to be functional as the original. Thanks for any other information that you can provide.

Darrell, the driveline on the 40 is the very same as on MH50,MF50AND TO35.IS yours gas? I have a 50 and a to35 gas with 6 speeds.Like you are now,I was a little baffled about all these tractors and thier various model numbers. All of them were made after MH MERGED WITH FERGUSON, becoming MHF UNTIL 1958.At that time the company became MF.I bought my meter at a local dealer and it looks and works like the original.Beware, these things are addictive.Have fun.

J.B. Thanks again for the reply. I was pretty sure about the interchageability but I hate buying things and having to return them. My F-40 is gas.My local tractor parts guy had a parts catalog with a small picture of the tractormeter for the 35 and MH-50 but it looked like it only had 5 speed ranges. Yes they are very addictive. You start out to do just a few small things to fix up the tractor and then next thing you know you have a $500 parts bill! (new seat, cushions, tune up kit, shift lever boots,.....)
Thanks again for the info.
