does anybody know some good "rutines" in setting the carburettor on an FE35 gasoline. My fergie runs very uneven (gargles ! ), and are easily drowned upon start.

I notice a fingerscrew on the carby-side towards the fan and a normal feather supressed screw facing outwards. I anyone can indentify these screws I would be thankfull.

regards

The screw on the front is the high speed jet. Turn it in until the engine starts to run rough at about 2000 rpm under a pto load if possible, and then turn it out until it runs rough on the rich side, counting the turns from lean rough running to rich rough running, then find where it runs the smoothest about half way between. It should never be less than one turn open. As for the other screw, it's the idle air control. Adjust it for the smoothest idle, usually almost closed to one turn open. It's not critical where you set it. Just go for a smooth idle.

Thanks for the guidance Randy!
Just to be all clear.
When you say "screw on the front" , do you mean the side facing outward toward me?.

Mark: When I said the screw on the front, I meant the one that faces the fan is the high speed jet. The one facing out towards you is the idle air screw.

Usually when one speaks of front, rear, left, and that other one, he is in the driver's seat.

Ok thanks Rufus
You are probably right (or..that other one)

It worked out and I now have a smooth running fergie. :)
