I just installed new points and condencer the tractor ran ok before with the old points but had a bit of a pop at the breather so how do trobble shoot the problem there is voltage to the distributer and how do you test the coil and condencer? I am not getting any spark

Hard to do shade tree test on coil or condensor. You have the old condensor and it worked, so try that. Sometimes new ones are bad. Coil wasn't problem before, and if you didn't replace it, it should be ok now. But most likely the problem is with a wire shorting out, probably in your installation process, or your points are not set right. You may want to set timing once you have it running.

If you have changed points, make sure you have the little insulating washer that goes through the spring leaf of the points the right way so it does insulate the setbolt, if you get that wrong it will ground everything.
