I bought the tractor today after driving it for a while it will not shift out of first gear. The shift lever will move but dosen't disingage from first. The tractor starts by using the shift lever i can still start the tractor. Any ideas will be help full

Sounds as though the lever has come out of the gear selectors, probably worn a little. Remove the oil filler plug on the left of the gear lever and you should be able to get the lever back in the selector again with a little persuasion. Try to get the lever in the position of first gear and you should be able to see where it goes in the selector.

By nine this morning had gear shift back in position and on the move again. I took the gear shifter and cover off to see where to place it. Thank you for the great information and a quick response.
