On the 20 85 the valve springs are they single or are they a 2 spring set up ,I just got a set of new ones but they are from a British auto parts supplier and they came as a inner and a outter spring . Is this right for the tractor to have only one and the T R 3s to have two or three spring set ups ?

My 2085 has only one spring, and it's the same for intake and exhaust.
My TR3a has either 2 or 3 per valve; I just forget exactly. Maybe 3 on the intake and 2 on the exhaust or vice versa. I wouldn't count on the outer TR3 springs being the same as the Ferguson springs; the TR3 engine revs at twice the speed just cruising along.
I replaced the whole set of 8 on the Fergie, but still have the old ones. A few of them may still be good; let me know if you need some. (Some were definitely shorter so I just replaced the batch.)

Jim

I too have several Triumph cars and I recently got a FE35. Can you tell me if the crank bearings or the valves are the same size in the tractor as any of the Standard Vanguard autos? What if any other parts might they share?

Thanks

On the diesel engine there are two valve springs, one inner, one outer. On the petrol/paraffin model there is only one, larger valve spring (Standard engines - dunno about Continentals)
