I had one of the front wheels off today and when i tried to spin the hub it seemed to turn alittle rough. I felt it should of moved freely, so i removed the castle nut to pull the hub and bearings. looking at the bearings they seem to be okay. I just purchased my to 35 so I am not sure of its maintanance history. Any advice on this, thanks Terry

Hi Terry, I too have a TO 35 and I did the front wheels last week. The bearings were OK but dry which made a rough grumble when freewheeling. Were yours dry also? If so before applying bearing grease check your seal. Clean everything with gaz or cleaner solution then fill everything with grease. Tighten castle nut until the wheel feels light drag then backoff nut to align with cotter pin. Fill also the screw cup. This step should be looked after once a year if used daily.
Good luck

Norm

Norm, thanks for the reply. No mine were full of grease, by your description maybe the one side was to tight and caused the lack of free movement. Then again I guess I figured they should roll free like a bike wheel, but aren't meant to. Thanks Terry
