Front tire options

I have a TO-20 with a loader mounted on front making the rig rather front-heavy(former owner used it as a manure loader). I use the tractor mainly to pull logs on a wagon and some log loading. Naturally I have traction problems on forest trails and the extra weight tends to drive the front wheels into soft soil. I was thinking of removing the narrow original equipment tires and mounting some with wider treads. Has anyone done this? Would you please advise on what sizes, rims, tires...might be best suited? Thanks.

I have a TO30 with loader and I have found that the 5 rib implement tires work better and mire less than the 3 rib normal front tire. Also, I put fluid in my rear tires, which helped my traction and shifted weight ratio greatly. Also putting a heavy implement on the back will help lighten the steering.

6.00-16 tires with corresponding rims are standard on the TO30, and optional on the TO20. I would'nt reverse the front rims to gain enough clearance for any wider tires than that or you risk breaking the front spindles and bearings. Keeping the front axle at its narrowest positioning will minimize stress on the front axle and pivot pin too.
