Can anyone tell me something about this Ferguson Sherman plow Farmer told me the moldboard slit design was for plowing rocky soil, seems to be in excellent shape this would be a nice match for my 1948 TE20. Going up for sale at local farm equipment auction. Serial # 3100

That type plow is commonly used to plow muck ground. Quite common in those areas. Potato farms use alot of them.

According to my 1957 copy of THE OPERATION CARE AND REPAIR OF FARM MACHINERY, 28edition, the slat moldboard plow bottom is used in loose sticky soils. I have never seen one except for the picture in this book, I would buy it just to take to shows.
