I have a '47 2N and a TO-30 of unknown vintage ( no serial no. tag ) . The 30 has an overhead valved engine with more HP than the 2N , 4 speeds instead of just 3 , and originally started by pushing the gearshift to the "S" position ( someone added another solenoid and a pushbutton to mine ) . It also weighs a few hundred pounds more . It feels and drives abot the same as the 2N ,which I think has one of the most comfortable driving positions of any tractor made . With the extra HP and weight , it will pull a load better , I also like the flip up hood . You will need to check for a cracked block though . This is a problem that seems to be inherent with the Continental Z-129 motors . If it is cracked , it MAY be fixable but you should take this in to account on the price . Mine is not cracked so I am one of the lucky ones . There are a lot of good posts about fixing blocks on this forum . Anyway , long story short , I love my 2N , but I must say that the Fergie has become my favorite . Let us know what you do ! Good Luck !
