We have seem GM V-8s in Farmall M's but has anyone installed a 345 International? Any special installation issues different than installing a GM small block?

The picture is on Tractor Photos of my V8 M It gets really full in the front with a power steering pump and a belt driven Govenor. I have it running 1850 govenored speed. It' ground speed is close to my other M,s as I run them 1800

If I could post pictures I would show you mine.I put one in from an IH pickup.I put one in my neighbors 560 the winter before I did my M. When I did the 560 I made all of the cut and drill templates out of 1/8in clear plastic. I displayed the M at the 05 Farm Progress Show,Like a fool I loaned my templates to a guy in southern Missouri so he could do a 400.from there they went to Ohio.Where they are at now it's hard telling.I really want the adapter drawing to adapt the 345 crank to the M crank.IF someone knows how to get photos from photo bucket to here and can explain it to me I will try to do it,remember I know very little about computers.

I seen a M at a show in Dalton, Mn almost 2 years ago that the guy had put a IH v-8 gas in. It must have came out of a conbine as it had a hydrostatic unit atached. He also had a combine rear axle used as a wide front. I had made frame rales useing retangular tubeing. It was a very neat/clean looking unit and meany hours were spent on it. I had forgot my camera that day so didnt get any pictures. Paul

Nothing is impossible with effort, knowledge, trial and success, money time and (oh yea) effort.
The 345 is not really a small block. the success will depend on centering the crank accurately and maching the adapter plate to the torque tube. Making a clutch/FW system should not be a problem. A tractor FW should not be used due to the speed potential difference (RPM) causing potential disaster. I recommend a mechhanical governor and fail safe systems be installed to protect the safety of operator and motorists on the interstate :-) JimN
