Does anyone have any suggestions besides the usual precautions on how to grasp the crank. I tried to get mine started today and nearly had a stroke. I pulled and pulled and could get it to fire on one cylinder but never start. I put new wires,Cap,Rotor, and points. I get a nice blue spark but it dosent go. any suggestions on throttle/choke settings would probably help at least I know skipping going to the gym today wasn't a compleat loss. This is a Farmall A, S/n 1017 so I believe it is a '39'

Be sure the plug wires are on the correct towers on the cap.

Hello oldgit You had it fire on just one cylinder and you have a nice blue spark? Are both of those items on the very same cylinder? Check spark on the other three. If you have spark on all, then your missing fuel. More choke. I prefer throttle set to about 900 rpm area. I use full choke for 2 pulls and then set choke to slightly less then full choke so that on the 3ed pull it starts but does not choke itself off. agpilot

Make sure the timing is good and the carb is clean and adjusted properly and the thing should hit right off. You should start with the crank at the bottom and pull up. It is a risk to try spinning it 360 degrees. If your tractor tends to flood it will not be easy to crank and start.
