Dad's Minneapolis Moline R | Well my story isnt much, but it has alot of meaning to me. When I was growing up I can remember my dad always owning a tractor. The one I remember the most is the minniapolis moline R. I remember it because it had a plow on the front, and my dad would let me sit on tractor for hours just raising and lowering the blade. For some reason my dads best friend who was a farmer kept after my dad to but the moline. Needless to say that day did come. So as I grew older, we spent alot of time on my dads friends farm, and soon I was driving the old R. He never took very good care of it and after a few years it ended up in his scrap pile, which after he passed on disappeared in a short time. I never did stop thinking about that tractor. About 2 years ago I was driving home from work and I seen this old wreck of a tractor sitting in an old vacant resturant where people would sell stuff. I drove by it for 3 days and finally I stopped. . . . it was a 1952 R, the hood was all smashed and it looked like it had been through a war. I called number and he met me, and after chatting I made arrangments for him to deliver the tractor. I got it for 300. 00. The motor was stuck pretty bad but I freed it up, took it apart and had the cylinders and heads all done. The tractor is running great, not finished yet but Im working it, I did put a plow on to plow snow with it. What a machine, I love it!!!!
