I'm buying a Ford 2000 Super Dexta that may need a starter, among other things. Does anyone know how much trouble it is to find one? Will my Ford tractor dealership have any parts for this thing? I'm located in Northwest Arkansas.

If there is a Perkins diesel dealer near you, you can get the parts cheaper than at Ford for the engine. Tractor Supply has alot of the wear out parts like lift arms, tie rod ends and the likes. Ford can still supply all hydraulics parts if you can't find them somewhere cheaper.

Any good starter shop either has the parts and can rebuild your starter, or can get the parts to rebuild it. The last Dexta starter I had rebuilt here in SE Texas cost about $40.

I like the Super Dexta. It has a 152cid Perkins engine Some books rate it 34 pto hp, and some rate it 38 pto hp. If it's in fairly good shape it will last a long time and they are very dependable tractors.

Just be sure not to use ether or gasoline fumes to crank it. Starters are alot cheaper and easier to put in than pistons.

It is either a 2000 dexta or a 3000 super dexta
starter in simular to Romeo built machines
