For a quick check on a gas engine that is missing . While running it at full throttle , turn the ignition off while listening to exhaust . If you hear it sucking or wheezing irregular , it is the exhaust valves . The intake very seldom goes bad , This may not help you in your case but it may help someone else . Jack

: Can anyone tell me what they know about valves that my
: be going bad. I have a tractor that I think this may
: be the problem. I would like to know from those of you
: out there that have learned through the "school of
: hard knocks" just what the symptoms are. I don't want to
: take the head off unless I'm sure this is the problem. How
: can I know if it is the valves. I took a compression test and
: got 95 psi in all cylinders - does this mean my valves are good?
: Thanks for the help. DG
