I would first of all definitely recommend a hydrostatic
drive system and stay with the top brands like
Cub Cadet, John Deere, or Kubota. Even then, buy the
garden tractor size not a lawn tractor. If new
is too much money, buy a good used unit and these
will all hold their value. Do not buy a Murray, Sears
or MTD, they are built cheap! They are really a
waste of money; After a few years, they are worth almost
nothing!

: I am in the market for a new tractor, mostle for work around the yard. I need something that gives a smooth ride due to back problems. It seems the bigger tired machines ride better and am looking at garden tractors as opposed to lawn. Can someone give me some good advise? There are so many its hard to decide. Why are JD's so much more than murray or MTD? are sears any better than MTD or Murray? SHould I go Hydrostatic? HELP!!!!!!
