First date was in sister's early-mid 70s bug, took young lady home from work. First real date was junior prom in my Mom's 76 Aspen wagon, same young lady. Next car date same young lady but her Mom's FuryIII. (Boy was I dumb for not being able to hang on to that young lady.) Fastest car 85 Monte Carlo with 350 built from scratch for $300 (worked at machine shop so old parts were cheap or free) Had 2:21 rearend. NO bottom end but out ran a Pontiac GTP between Pa and Ohio. When I hit hi gear he wasnt around. Only thing I knew was 1st was good for about 85, hit 2nd and speedo stopped moving.

I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out.
