Is MS removal a legiminate site? It wants my credit card info. Says there are 38 virouses on here all of a sudden!I think its fake. Icalled credit card co an blocked them. All this happened in last 2 hrs.Any one else have trouble?

Sounds like a virus. I work as a computer tech for a school system and we have been battlling these for the last 2 months. Download MalWare Bytes and SuperAntiSpyWare and runthem in safe mode on your computer. You can run both of them at the same time. Wait till both are finished before clicking finish on either. They are both free. We had a meeting at work last Friday and one of the techs was talking about a virus that calls itself Microsoft Security something. He had taken a picture of the desktop of the infected computer and it looked like a real Microsoft page but was actually a fake. He said it could be removed with MB and SASW if done quick enough. There is another one, I think it is called Internet Security 2011 that is pretty bad to. We recently switched to Avira antivirus but it won't stop some of these viruses. I am running Norton 2011 on my Dell with Vista and so far it has caught and stopped these viruses. I hope this is helpful.

my son got that one the other night, took me about 2 hours to root it out, found out my back up computer hard drive crashed, had to use the laptop to download malware bytes. found it and removed it, Mine erased malware bytes and blocked all attempts to access the internet. they make it so you think you are infected and have no options,..

Thanks, Been working on removing virus site am did did it by running safe mode as you said. Allowed me to have a restore point an that is what i did. I am now running malwarebytes scan.Almost was ready to take to Data bit tomorrow which would have cost couple bucks. Thanks

cshess, WHERE do you, a decent guy, going on the interweb?

There's NO way you would have anything to fear from just going to (for example) a legitimate news site or this "old tractor board".

If you are in fear of viruses, you are going where a
decent person shouldn't go!

I don't think that is correct. Regardless of where you go on the internet, you can get a virus.

There are sites that are worse than others (Youtube) because of the traffic volume.

I was checking my email one day and my anti-virus program which has real time protection, popped up a warning. I shut the browser down and started running scans to make sure the virus didn't get through.

Yes, its a scam and a virus. Even if you pay, it won't stop. We got the same thing. I bought Avira and Malwarebytes ($25.00 each). Haven't had a problem since then. Cheap protection.

There is a "free" version of Malwarebytes but its not nearly as good.

The Avira and Malwarebytes version you buy both have real time protection which means they operate whenever you turn your computer on.

I was checking my email one day and Avira started popping up warnings about a virus attempting to attack the computer. I shut the browser down and ran virus scans using both programs. The virus had not gotten through.

My opinion - they are well worth the money.

So the virus that tried to infect mine from Caterpillar site , Polaris ATV site, Ice Fishing site were not real ? Whew ,,Guess I don't need protection after all ,,lol

All is well this morning after running Malweire. Thanks to Google information an help from you folks! Have to get new credit cards but maybe thats good as no one will be able to use old numbers.Downside is that i will have to fill in legiminate folks with new ones.

So did you give it your credit card number or did it find them and take them?
