Atrial fibrillation? Had it since at least 2006. (first ever EKG showed it) BTDT, 4 cardioversions over a year ago, final electric shock worked for two months, then back into A-fib. But, good pills corrected that, but got pulled from the first ones when the EKG showed likelihood of instant cardiac arrest... been steady since mid 2010. Just another success story from the good treatment I get at VA. St. Cloud, MN, has one of the best records of the VA system. Their motto is, "We treat Veterans right". And, they do!

My dad was going through that every couple weeks. He had a cardiac ablation (spelling?) And has been good for 6 months now.

Your mental attitude might be affecting this..I said might. Learn to be worthless and shut off the adrenalin.
So far I have not been zapped by mine. I am on my second ICD, Closest I came was it charged up once and then decided it didn't need to.
What a wonderful machine.

They put me on Amiodarone (cordarone) last year it's a last chance medicine it may work good for you or kill you. So far mine works great my heart beats steady like it did before my heart attack. They won't give to you unless all else fails though because of the many side effects.

Bob, that sounds like no fun at all. I hope they get it right this time. If not, maybe it's time for a pacemaker? They never worked up the nerve to even try cardioversion on me. A pacemaker solves the problem for good.

had A-Fib since April 09...use Inderal ...Doc. went over the shock deal with me & I decided there are way to many bad side affects & most of the time it just comes back ...I work [2] full time jobs & take care of a handicapped wife...only difference I have is that I give out a lot faster than before ...also take rat poison to keep blood thin....went into A-Fib after taking Imodium for 10 days straight trying to get rid of the runs...Doc. said I burned out the wiring with that much Imodium...if I don't walk to fast or pick up too much I beat 76 a min. with 120/75BP....PT checks 2.5 most weeks....take care ..Kent
