allis c tierod

I have a "C" with a narrow front. I want to replace the tierod that runs along the left side of the motor. The ends are so wore out and sloppy. It is one solid piece so the ends cannot be unthreaded off or anything. I have looked in catalogs and on the web and cant find anything. So I guess I will buy a couple tie rod ends from the parts store that has the same size tapered end and cut my old ends off and weld the new ones on. Have you guys done this before? HELP!!!

I have one off a B, I don't know if it would fit or not. It has caps
that screw in and out to adjust how tightly it holds the arms.
