Advice needed on replacing radio in cab tractor.

Trying to replace the old analog AM/FM tuner radio in our 1982 Ford TW-10 tractor. This is an old post mount style radio. Not many places make a post mount radio anymore.

To replace it with a more modern faceplate style would take quite a bit to hang it. I have found a new post mount relatively cheap ($75) but some of the reviews are not so good. What do you all think? Would it hold up the the vibrations of a tractor? Any suggestions as to where to start looking or an easy way to mount a modern stereo in a post mount enclosure.

BTW: I have found I hate all the new stereos, they can"t make one anymore without glowing neon trim and 150 tiny buttons that you can"t push while driving.

I installed one just like that in my 1086 last winter, has worked well. But thats just one season. My luck with radio's in tractors and construction equipment isn't real good. Two or three years usually. For what it's worth, I've got another radio going bad, will buy another like that for it. I got the last one from ebay but the seller doesn't have any more. Thanks for the link, will use it. Good luck, Ken

If you have a Radio shack around they sell conversion plates to mount about anything.

or make a Box on a post . I'd look for an older Chrysler radio out of A van or PU easy to remove and they are fairly cheap.

I say older , because some radios will not work when they loose battery contact for a period of time. they think someone stole it and need reprogrammed with a preset and possibly a personal set of numbers.

Decent sound too
