Thats the splitter I just don't think is safe.

I know someone will say, everything is safe when used properly. Agreed. But, I think there is a lot of opportunity for someone slipping on the snow while leaning towards that, or a piece of wood getting bound up and spinning.

For me, I'll stick to my wedges and sledge hammer for the 6 face cord a year I split. FWIW, I've cracked myself in the shin twice with the sledge so not trully safe either.

I thought that those,"screw type" splitters
were outlawed years ago. If they "Catch
something, and spin it around it could break
an arm, or worse. Just like getting caught in
a tractor PTO.
