Another snowfall overnight. Maybe 6 inches or so.
Got out my newest piece snow equipment, a Kawasaki Pairie with a swisher plow, but for the cleanup, I still use the oldest. That's a 1960 Wheelhorse Suburban. It can still push alot of snow and it can get into tight areas. I also like making the old stuff earn their keep and this Wheelhorse has always done that,

You forgot to say where never can figure out someone posts we got xxxin of rain then forget to say where same way with snow.

Always thought a 4 wheeler would make a better plow and be easier to manueaver and faster than a Garden Tractor. SO, how is it? Do you need chains to get good traction? Is there enough weight on stock rig, or need to add more and how then? Does the snow your pushing just push the front of rig away from snow when plow is angled? I've experienced that on my tractors, but has to be pretty big snow. Assuming you have a winch to raise blade? Can that be quick enough for lifting the blade at end of run say when you can drive up into/onto the built up pile, so you don't get stuck? Don't have 4 wheeler, but would like to try one. Would have to be a "worker" not just for play.

Hi soder33: Hey.. that is a 1960 wheelhourse just like mine.. I got it when I lived on the oposite side of the Twin Cities from you.. (West side near Lake Minnetonks) I'll guess those kind of yard/lawn tractors were popular near the edges of metro areas back in the 1960's.. Someone put in a bigger engine in and I didn't know that untill after I did a ring & valve job on mine.. I impress my self one time when I pushed my case skidsteer out of the way once using the blade like you have..
Snow looks a little lite without much ice under it.. I am sw-MN now and got a little ice befor it moved your way.. Take care. ag.

I have a honda 4x4 with a plow. I dont put chains on it, but it pushes snow really good. I dont put weight on it either. No the snow dosent push the atv when the plow is on a angle. Id recomend one they work good. Dont get me wrong like anything you have to be carefull useing it.

Got a Wheel Horse blade just like that. Friend gave it to me this summer. I have it on my 1970 Wheel Horse. I'm anxious to try it out, but we don't get much snow in Southern Illinois.

Your tractor engine - did you reposition it? It looks like it sits a lot farther back than mine. I think mine is a little bigger - it's a 12 horse Kohler engine.

I used to use a Polaris 4 wheeler for snow, it doesnt work as well as a tractor due to weight is too low and snow is too deep, my diesel deere works very well vs. the Polaris.

The engine is in the original position. They were called nut roasters for that reason. The original engine was a Kohler K91, 4 hp. I have it, but it needs alot a to be rebuilt. For now I have put in a Honda clone that has 6 HP.

It does not need chains to get good traction. 4 wheel drive seems to do the job without extra weight. It doesn't move to the side when angled and I have pushed heavy wet snow with it. The winch could be a little faster, but is adequate for lifting the blade at end of run.

Do you know if it was a 400, with the Kohler K91 or the 550 with a Tecumseh 5 1/2 HP. They look almost the same except for the engine in them.
The snow was on the loight side. We got lucky and didn't get the rain before the snow, so we missed the ice.
