Quiet a bit of discussion on the thread below about the Conceiled Carry permit, if you do have one, what gun do you normally carry? Personally I carry a Bond arms snake slayer. .410 gauge loaded with double 0 buckshot. 2 shots-10 holes. Wife carrys a 38 Special Pink Lady.

Keltec 9mm compact when conceilment is a big issue like light summer shirts. But by far my favorite is a Kimber royal in 45 cal. Best hand gun I have ever had the plesure of fireing. But a little bulky and heavy. Works well under a jacket. Have a buddy that just got a tiny little Ruger 380 that works like a top.

357 Mag. S&W snub nosed hammerless on belt & 22Mag. North American Arms mini revolver in pocket.
To say nothing of lock blade knife in other pocket...

I have carried a 38. Special S&W "Lemon Squeezer" (hammerless revolver with a grip saftey) for 25 years. Over the years I've upgraded the ammo but always stuck with the same gun. Shoot it twice a month just to make sure it works and I can hit someting, but have never needed it. YET! Sure was glad to have it along a time or two though.

Must be an LCP. Those are neat, to say nothing about being infinitely dependable.

I've run several hundred rounds of hollow point, flat nose, and FMJ ball ammo in a half dozen brands through mine and have yet to have a single jam or misfire.

s&w model 10 in 38spl+p's with steel jacketed hollow points, when i travel i always drive, and i'll keep that in the truck and put my ruger gp100 in 357 mag. in my suitcase, that way i got one in the motel room and one in the truck and nobody sees any guns being moved around

Teeny tiny KelTec .380- can carry it in my suit pocket without it trying to pull my jacket off. Only carry when I go to the "big city".

S&W model 617 with 6" barrel (for those who don"t know Smith, that would be a .22 revolver, 6 shot, in stainless) with a formed leather holster I bought at the Kittery Trading Post (Kittery, Maine) years ago. Love that set up.

Edward

Ruger P-95 in the car, Ruger 44mag in the farm truck, S&W 38spcl+p airweight on me at all times, and a DPMS AR-15 for any uninvited house guest's

HighStandard Model HD Military .22lr with the bull barrel
or 40cal auto
depending on how much stopping power i think i"ll need

S&W Airweight .38 loaded with glazer safety rounds. Got an S&W M&P40 C but don't have a holster I like yet.

Somebody has been watchin too many Dirty Harry reruns. Most of you jokers would do more harm to yourself if you tried to draw. And giving your old lady a gun is Ultra stupid. Someday she will use it allright--When the time is right.

Kel-tec .32 auto in my back pants pocket. Wallet on one side, its on the other. I've got a Sig P220 in .45 auto that I really like but I just dont like carrying that much weight.

My dad's old single shot 16 gauge with the front sight missing. You have to drop a punch down the barrel after shooting to get the old shell out.)

If you feel these guys are more of a threat to themselfs than anyone else, I am sure that they will oblige you if you choose to test that theory
As for giving the wife a gun, If you are that afraid of her, why even have her around??? If she wants to do you in a bat, knife, or poison food will work just as well.

Have a lot of guns around here one with five different barrels all the way from a 30/30 to 17/223. But my favorite is the S&W 38 spl. stainless snub nose. Can,t hit a thing with it beyond the length of your arm but it makes a lot of noise.
Wife hid it a few years back so I guess I'm back to throwing rocks.
Walt

Ps yes I,m still around you guys can't kill off a good guy that easy.

Kimber compact -45
Sig P-220 - 45
or
Smith &Wesson 686- 357
All depends on the clothing i'm wearing.

Detroit is such a wonderful place to have to work .

Since I now live in side the Arizona Badlands, I carry all the time when ever I leave house. I answer the door with a 12ga shotgun and a handgun on my side.

Mossberg 500 and a Ruger SP101 357.

My new pocket carry will be a Ruger LCR-38+P

T_Bone

Kimber compact stainless .45 ACP. There is a reason why 1911's have been around for a hundred years. Oh and a S&W .357.

I carry a 9mm either Beretta 92F or Ruger P89DC.
Wife carries a Taurus PT709 (9mm)
Son carries XDM in 9mm.
Daughter carries Taurus Millenium (9mm).
Did I say I load my own 9mm?

Sis-in-law carries a Kimber in .45ACP.

As far as the wife carrying, I'd like to have her around for a few more years, and if she'd wanted me dead, I'd been gone long before she got her CPL and gun. Others better not fuss with the missus, I'm not worried. That's why I supported and urged her to get protection.

I used to carry a Sig P232, but found that I had run two warrants with the magazine not seated all the way. It seems the European mag clip can be rubbed loose on a car seat while driving,

I now carry a S&W M&P compact in a 9mm. It gives me more rounds than the Sig P232 .380 and very smooth shooting.,

When I teach CHL, I advise everyone to carry a S&W snub revolver with a concealed hammer. Revolvers are much more reliant unless you are willing to keep a semi-auto clean and off of the floor board of your car.

If you are competent in clearing jams and keeping the weapon clean, then a semi will do fine for you.

Thank God we are in America so that we can legally carry and own firearms.

I bought the wife a hammerless lady Smith!

What a piece of crap, it is the worst gun i have ever shot.

It is very uncomfortable to shoot.

It's sure not like my 686 Smith .357

Anyone else think this about the hammerless lady Smith.

What do I carry? As in protection from the fundys in this country? As in security for my family from the lock and load crowd, you know the ones. "You can pry my fingers....bowwow, woof woof.

I carry my voters registration card...

You've got to love the anti gun clowns who post.

In Canada you can't carry a gun, you are supposed to:

1) allow yourself to be victimized
2) If you survive, call 911
3) Police will arrest the attacker (and yourself if you resisted the initial attack)
4) Attacker will go to court and be determined to be a victim of poor upbringing or lack of opportunity etc. and not be responsible due to "society" treating them poorly and get off on a technicality.
5) Attacker will sue you for violating their right to attack other people by you tying them up in the legal system.

LOL..hope it doesn't actually happen that way....

If a couple of High Young adults with baseball Bats forced their way into your home. demanding money to burchase more drugs, would you prefer your neighbors be armed with firearms or voter regestration cards?????

Now old geezer, just how likely is that to happen? I don't have much against carrying a gun, but firmly believe they will end up causing more harm than good. I read all the time about mishandling/discharging while , cleaning...not knowing how to handle in an outdoor environment...cheny is a good example there.

The cry and wail by the gun crowd went up 100 decibels after external_link was elected...I know I watched my bro in law buy his first gun and suffer so much when he couldn't get ammo for it right away. Geeze, I mean how could he stand all those nights waiting for the attacks? I think it sits in his closet now..

Cause more harm than good". Guns don't cause any harm at all. Guns dont't rob convenience stores or all night gas stations - people do. Guns don't kill other people - people do.Guns have never been and are not now the problem - people are the problem!

It only has to happen to ONE person. Would you want that one person to be YOU or your wife, husband, kids, parents, grand-kids, etc? Because the truth of this world is that it DOES happen.

Leatherman multi-tool. Cops if in a bored cranky mood can still lay a charge of a concealed deadly weapon.
Even police officers usually can't carry while off duty.

You wanna spend time worrying about something that has more probability of happening...worry about cuts to the infrastructure that take away the police, the fireman and all those people that DO keep our family's safe. I see that happening a lot now days. Something that seems to come around after the end of most nnalert administrations.

There is not doubt the gunnys pose a much larger danger to our society than the criminal element...how bout some GTA missiles? More of a chance the russians would sneak in a mig...COULD HAPPEN ya know..how would you feel if you didn't have air defense weaponry and a bomb fell on your house? Just because the government won't let you have that particular weapon.

When seconds count the police are only minutes away. For the most part Police investigate after crimes have been committed and the damage is done. They have no way of detecting when a crime is about to happen, or that some nice guy on the street could be a killer. They try to find the criminal after the they have committed the 1st/2nd/3rd/etc crime, hopefully before they commit another. I for one wouldn't put my faith in the police "protecting" me...

As for firemen there's a reason I have fire extinguishers all over my house/farm/shop. If something catches fire generally I WILL be the first responder. The firemen will get the call and arrive to make sure the fire stays contained to the building or area etc.

Concealed carry for the really prepared...

"I've just never been so humiliated in my life," Scott said.

A police log said Scott wore a .40-caliber Glock handgun with a 30-round magazine in a holster at his hip, as well as two concealed knives and a "pepper grenade."

He also had prescription pills but no label or paperwork, the police log said.

Scott said he had a proper weapon permit in Arizona and believed it was reciprocal in Florida.

He also didn't understand why he was charged with carrying a concealed weapon when he wore the gun in plain sight, as advised by colleagues.

How Likley is it to happen??? quite likley I'D say. A friend had their house broken into, 18 yr old daughter bound and gaged. Met the homeowner at the door with a shotgun (stolen) when he came home. bound and gaged him, but the wife was 15 steps behind him and was able to slip away and get help. This was in a small "safe" quiet little town. If it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.
As for firearme being more of a danger to the owners than anyone else, and people shooting themselfs while cleaning them, that is simply a lack of firearm safty/ training. ANYONE WHO IS NOT FAIMILAR WITH OR ABEL TO HANDLE A FIREARM SAFLY SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO DO SO!!!!

On the farm, The Judge, .410 / 45 Long Colt. On the steet either a Berreta 92FS 9MM or Bursa Concealed Carry .380
