I just acquired an old LeRoi engine. I'm unable to find a model number on it - much less a date. However, it has a large "S" cast into the head on the front and some sort of numbers" "2 28" on the rear of the head. Can anyone help me identify it? I'd like to restore it but need the info before I can get started.
It's a 2 cylinder, 4 cycle with magneto. Hand cranked start. Has a large radiator with LEROI embossed in the top tank part of it.
I appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Sounds like a twin to one I have tucked in the back of a shed for a rainy-day project!

Thanks Bob! I"ll go have a look. I"m hoping to stumble upon some kind of source for parts if possible. It"s not unusual for me to make parts but I always prefer original over home-made.
I"ve got the mag firing now and hope to have the carb done soon. Then on to the actual engine.
