Well the horses are gone and looks like the farms going up for sale.My question is.I have separate electric service at the barn with a drilled well and underground pressure tank. With no use at the barn it still costs me about 15.00 a month just to keep the service hooked up.If I shut off the service should I run the hydrant with pump shut off at the box till all pressure is relieved from tank?Or doesnt it matter?

Thanks

Stan

That's cheap. My barn with separate service was $18 per month for years (base charge). Then, they raised it to $42 per month as "not residential" and I unhooked it. Now the barn is wired to my house.

As far as your underground tank goes, if there's no worry about freezing, it will probably rust less and last longer if you leave it full. Empty damp tanks rust a lot more then when full of water.
