John Deere B serial number

Does the raised number on the serial number card mean anything? I have a styled John Deere B but the number is a raised 6 then a 17084 that is punched into the card. Any info on this would be great! Thanx!

If you're sure it's a styled JD that serial # doesn't fit in the Model B series of numbers.
If the "6" is really a "B" then the serial # is 17084 which would be a 1936 unstyled model.

Serial # 617084 fits in the Model A series of numbers and would be a 1949 model.

Are you sure what you're calling a "6" isn't a "B"????????????
