Can I shave the head on this diesel engine to give it a little more?

I think the head gasket surface on that engine is flat with no combustion chamber??you cannot raise the compression ratio by shaving it if there is no combustion chamber in the head.

The thought has crossed my head. My 1850 oliver
has a fiber head gasket. Why could you not shave the block and if you over do it. shave the pistons a little.

Easiest and best way to give it more is by simply turning the pump up. Depending on where it's at now that may not be such a good idea...
Leave the head alone.
