OT - Support your local 4-H Kids?

Hope this don't sound like I'm tooting my own horn, BUT the satisfaction you get back by sponsoring a trophy or buying an animal is great! I sure like the effort these kids put into raising/working on their projects and then show at the local level. Pretty sure it builds strong minds and bodies as they grow!

As a former 4-H member and state officer, you are so right. We have given two purebred heifers to young members who in our opinion deserved a lift. They have went on to be outstanding young ladies. The oldest is going to college getting her masters in ag communication. For several years we hae given a trophy to the youth showing the champio at the Iowa State Fair. It is great to she these youg people develope into fine young person.

Glad someone has positive experiences with 4H.

I was a member only two years, just long enough to find out if your last name wasn"t one of three you were wasting your time.
 
I was in 4H from the time I could sign up until I was too old to be a member. My kids are now in 4H. I am a club leader and a county fair superintendent. My kids show livestock, along with some other projects. In the photography class, my daughter has a picture that was one of the very top awarded at the state fair and is now hanging on a wall in Washington D.C. in our state representative's office. (Sorry, I had to brag a little about myself and my kids)
A lot of high school teachers can guess what kids are entered in 4H after a single class presentation.

PS: That flyer was from a gal that's almost 80+ years old!
3 Generations working the horse show as well.

A very good program for young folks; I certainly enjoyed it.

The <a href="http://4-h.org/4hstory.html">4-H</a> program should be available to all school children in rural communities.

Keep up the good work.
