If it works out, think I'll have the first bale bronzed

My wittle twactor with the mower I picked up yesterday for 120 bucks, the 10 buck rake, baler and the gopher (quad). Just have to get a dry stretch. Bunch of folks mowed yesterday and it rained today.

(quoted from post at 02:32:15 06/10/10) nice!! are those apple trees?
Mostly with a couple plum and pear. Only thing they are good for is shade..... You get about 2 bucks for a hundred pounds of apples at the local juice press. The pears and plums aren't too bad, at least you can get rid of them to the old folks that make their own schnaps.

Just put new knives on the mower and replaced the bolts that hold them.
Lost one when trying it out and saw that the last guy har used regular bolts and homemade shims. Ideal for me would be to mow in 10 days because I have vacation starting in 13 days, maybe I'll have beginners luck.

Do you have the special tool for changing the knives? I still have mine hanging in the shop.

Dave- it looks like it was made to fit your tractor. Only advice I have for you is to wait till it rains, and the weather changes, and cut. Best hay I got this year, was when I ignored the weatherman, and cut on a cloudy day, tedded on a cloudy day, and baled on the sunny day. 72 round bales, (equivalent of about 800 small squares) in one day's baling. Just let the flat tires, and baler snafu's roll off your back and keep on balin!

This one has bolts. Made in france, guess they were still mad at the germans when they made them to sell here
Took all of 15 minutes to change all 8 though. The guy gave me a bunch of extras when I got it to pick through but a box of 25 new ones was 11 bucks and new bolts/shims another 15. Like new underware now.
