how do i get them out??? got birds building nests betwwen the roofs area of the house ,, gonna close them in soon , just hope they all get out before they are closed in ,, toy snake did not stop them from making a nest ...

J H , could you post those pictures of the cabbages that you and your mom grew again? I really would like to see them again. Also how do you keep them from getting cabbage worms I grew some nice ones but they got eaten up pretty bad

thuricide or dipel works great on cabbage loopers, they are worm killers, a bacteria that attacks the worms digestive tract and paralizes it so the worm cannot digest its food and starves to death. not really poisonous, mix with soap so it will coat cabbage leaves and stay on the cabbage. both of these will not affect anything but worms.

Set up nest boxes and shelves up in the gables of your barn to attract an owl and kestrels (if you have them). Most barns here have one on each end. Owls get a hole (about 3 inches) with a perch under is and a box on the inside and the kestrels get a hole (bigger hole or a perch) with an open shelf inside.
