Super A died while cultivating 1 week ago

Please Help! I have changed the plugs, wires, coil, distributor cap, points, and rotor to no avail. It is not getting any fire to the plugs. It was converted to a 12 Volt system by my grandfather years ago. I have set the points to .020 and I believe the rotor is pointing at the #1 position when #1 is at TDC. El Toro, you seem to be very knowledgeable. Can you shed light on this for me?

So how did it die just stopped or sputtered first. If it just stoped it must be spark as when it runs out of gas it will sputter a little first. I have 2 As and use them a lot. Just dont have any problems but they do set in a shed all winter and never set out in the weather. Do you have gas coming out of the carb if you remove the drain plug that can tell you a bunch.

get a tester or a test light and make sure you have fire to the coil. If you do, start from there. You could have a faulty switch or a bad wire somewhere.

Did you install a new condenser? You need to make sure you're getting battery voltage to your coil. With the points open and your ignition switch on, you should have battery voltage on both small terminals. If you don't have voltage here run a separate wire from the battery to your coil then see if the engine will start.

Rub those new points with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol and then see if you have fire to your plugs. Hal

The great advice below needs one more item. Is the rotor actually turning with the engine?
Timing gears can break. Jim
