Hey guys,thanks for all your entertaining comments.My wife and I laughed till we hurt!keep em comming!O yes,about the farmall with a washer in the sediment bowl,was that an iron vitamin pill that got stuck in its throat?:)
 
In the past years I have found more then one magnet in the sediment bowls of tractors and it does in fact catch a good bit of rust. I have also seen them on the gas tanks so that the rust stays in the one spot of the tank and not in the fuel system
 
GM used to put round flat magnets in the bottom of tranny pans to get the shavings and they worked petty good. I used to find them in the parts washer and tried it in a lawnmower. Didn't quit work out..
 
I don't think the rust its self is but because it is on iron/steel it does stick to a magnet. Or in other words most of the time there is still enough iron content to it that is sticks
 
Rust is merely iron molecules with an oxygen molecules attached. The iron molecules are still attracted to the magnet.
