got the high speed hooked up today,WOW what a difference ,when you guys post pics I get to look at them instantly instead of waiting up to 10 minutes.yeeee haaaa!
 
I just order skybeam installed on Monday. No more Qwest with their 9 dollar caller ID and AT&T with a 17 dollar fee when no long distance calls made. Will get 6 times the speed of my DSL 250. That doesn't hack it any more with all the videos you guy send. I have no idea how any one can live with just dial-up any more
 
We got Verizon FIOS back in Sept. It's quite fast too. We get free long distant calls too.
TV reception is excellent. Comcast did away with all the country music channels after being with them 36 years. MY wife likes it since she
only needs to write one check per month. Hal
 
I went with a Verizon broadband card for internet now that I'm in the boonies. It's $60/ month with I think a 5 GB max each month. After that you pay a fee, but last month we only used about 1/5th of the limit so I think we'll be alright.

The benefit of this, is that I can take the computer with me anywhere I go, and still have access to the internet.

Netflix streaming movie, hulu, fancast, and others provide videos to watch.

Be sure to check out YouTube videos on square dancing tractors, etc. You can spend a day there bouncing from subject to subject.

If you get a Magic Jack you can make telephone calls anywhere in the U.S. without charge. The phone can be used as if it was on a landline and even be used for 911 calls with your address showing up to them if you have registered it with MJ. It is now my only home phone but do have to leave the computer on in order to take incoming calls or they simply go to voice mail and I get an email telling me of them with the audio clip of them.

Skype to Skype for those that also have it. Computer cam to computer cam is what it boils down to with audio. Sort of like visual phone calls.

Ah yes, the world of high speed internet. You will indeed love it.
