Any one else a little concerned about getting the crops out this fall? Here in western Wisconsin things are very wet and look to be wet for the next week.It gets a little stressful.Feel better now I vented. Thanks

We're done with our harvesting as we don;t have to combine anything, but now the challenge will be getting everything plowed under. Way too wet to try plowing now, and in 1 week I'll be busy moving out into the country so I won't be able to help much on the farm for the next 7-10 days. I might be plowing snow instead of soil :x

Yesterday, the local newspaper gave the startling statistic that only 13% of Nebraska's corn crop has been harvested. There are also still plenty of soybeans still in the field.

The recent weather pattern has been one or two dry days alternated with four or five days of rain, or at least too adverse to harvest. The extended outlook is more of the same.

Our renter did get ours done, but he still has some of his own and some custom committments yet to go. Plus just as he was finishing ours, one of his two semis had an electrical fire under the hood. This isn't going to be a year people look back on with fond memories.

I don't have any to worry about but I have noticed that there are a lot out in fields that should have been done by now but just been to wet for them to get in. Not the first time I have seen this and have seen many times over the years where there was snow on the ground and combines and corn pickers in the field doing the harvest

Just be patient. You will get it done. Seams like when things get really critical you figure out ways and methods you would not have thought of other wise.

It's just as bad or worse here in Mid Michigan. Yes,I've been late getting started before, but usually the corn has dried down more so the first break in the weather I could get started, but I think we're looking at freeze drying as the only way this year. My big fear is things getting burried in snow a-hole deep to a tall Indian before I can get started. Not that I'm fond of bounding around on frozen ground, but it's better than leaving it til spring.
