a knock off of a allis g

there is a tractor that looks close and smaller than a allis g it has a rear engine i think it was a 2cyl. in my head i keep thinking its a troy built. its a tubular frame and has the same style of the g. if you can please help with this problem of finding a name of it. thank all of you.jim
 
There was one built in Cumming,Ga.in about early 80"S,but I think they are long gone. The name of the co. was Tuff Built.
 
This tractor is still being built. A new company in Alabama is building them.I have a '80 ish one that we love and only have carb problems. A MITSUI diesel is planned shortly. They are hydrostatic and will really crawl. LOVE IT,will always keep it.

After hearing from customers how much they'd like to own a tractor like an Allis G, Pappy took on the local Hines franchise in about '79 or '80. They shipped him two tractors...and a year later he shipped them back unsold.

Apparently folks with money to spend on a tractor weren't as fond of the Allis G style as the folks who were broke were.
 
David Brown, (UK) made a similar tractor in the 1950s, it was about the same size as the Allos Chalmers G. I believe it had a 2 cylinder diesel engine.
 
In the 70's john blue made one as well.

The tractor is a Blue G-1000, made during the early 1970s by the John Blue Co., Huntsville, Ala. You’re forgiven if you never saw or heard of a Blue tractor, as only about 200 were built.

I wish people could get away from all this hydrostatic stuff. I got involve with it for a time and it broke me of it. Yes it's speed adjustment is great but the cost of a breakdown parts replacement is more than terrible. I'm hoping some day the old conventional transmission with clutch will come back on the Tuffbilts. Keep the cost down. bjr
