Finally getting a decent rain.

Been raining most the night and still will be for a few hours. Didnt get the rye combined, but my corn is in the final days of kernal fill so timing was great. I just hope the rye will dry out decent enough so I dont have any sprouting happening. Yeild is kinda low but even aT $3.40 at $3.40 it adds upo, hopefully I can find a buyer for the straw so I dont have to store it. I hope some of you other folks that have been needing rain, or a break from it, get what you need, sure eases the mind.

It was raining at 7 am and is still coming down pretty hard. This is the first year I can remember that parts of my yard weren't brown and crunchy this time of year. Crops around here look really good. Local farmer here told me that his crops have never looked better, but they aint in the bin yet.

Amen, brother. The Lord is good. Now hopefully the ol' beans will not abort and I shall bring in a bumper crop! One can dream...right? ;-)

First good rain we have had all year. The guage shows 1.25 inches and will put the finishing touches on the second cutting of hay. Will help fill some of the remaining green grain crops in the area. It was a real pleasure. Bud

we had a beautiful 1" yesterday with another 1 and a half this morning. All I can say is God is good. Perfect timing after having devastating hail all around us on each of the past 4 Fridays. There has been over 35,000 acres totally wiped out in our county alone.

Last night we got 2-2 1/2" of rain, and it's raining again tonight. I think it might be too late for our earlier planted corn to grow too much more, although most of it isn't tassled yet so there is some hope.

Our 3rd crop is just starting to blossom out some, so that should be able to grow a few inches yet and hopefully it'll help that out.

Had our oats run on Thursday. I cut it last Sunday and it got rained on a little the next 2 nights. We got some straw baled for my brother to sell w/ his pumpkin business and I finished off the rest of that 5-6 acre feild chopping it for bedding. The other 4-5 acres are still out there, but it'll be there when the rain is done. We need rain more than straw right now.
