Hi Folks. Need some advice. Have a 4630 JD that the traction booster shaft is leaking on Book says remove cab top cover both rear wheels and final drives. Ex JD mechanic told my son you can pull left rear wheel and final drive and reach in and remove lever on shaft and pull it out and replace bushings and seals. Anyone ever done this and if so any information would be really appreciated.

Please explain traction booster as I've never heard of this on a 30 series JD.

Maybe your referring to the load & depth control shaft. If seals are leaking on it drain oil, support drawbar assembly and drive shaft out.

Thanks for answer. Some models will drive out, but 4630 has lever on shaft that must be removed from inside tractor.

Are you referring to having to remove the load control arm(R43921)? I did see in parts that the load control shaft has a place that appears to be smaller diameter towards center of shaft. If so on smaller rowcrop tractors they're not easy to remove.
