When my daughter & sil bought their house, it had a electric stair chair in it. They didn't want or need it, so it sat in their garage for a few years. I went up there today and brought it home to give to our church to use on the basement stairs . It is a Wecolator, made by the Cheney Co. Inc. 3015 163rd St, New Berlin, Wis. Model RS-19351-42-82
It is set up for the wrong side of the stairwell. I was looking at it to see if it could be turned around or not. Anyone have any experience with one of these? It doesn't use a cable, the lower part of the beam is fitted with gear teeth and a sprocket engages the teeth to move the chair up the rail. I thought the seat would swivel, but after looking at it, I'm not sure it will. Just wonder if anyone had any experience with one of these. I Googled Wecolator, and they aren't made anymore. Chris
