Well I see the oil company is back to the same old bull , manipulating prices and taking advantage of the Holidays.

Not going anywhere. Gas is 2.29 and diesel is 2.15 in South Central Texas. Maybe more around here in some places.

For many years now, it wasn"t unusual for gas prices to go up on Thurs. eve and come down Mon morning. Holidays even more so.

Crooked SOB's have raised the price here 30 cents in the last 2 weeks and diesel 4 Cents.

Nope, not gonna let them ruin my life. I will NOT let them have control over me, i have looked at what i've been doing and found ways to cut down on my travel overall which will hurt them more in the long run than me not having fun. Really didn't take to much either, Cut out the extra trips to town (14 miles one way) But another little gas miser (2 vehicles now that get over 28 miles/gal.) Yep i'm not gonna put some mom and pop hotel out of business just because some Beavis needs to make another 10 cents. By the way just spent three nights in motels and found out the half price mom and pop ones are just as nice as the Brand names. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!

That may be true where you are but gas prices never did that raise on Thursday deal until Bush was President around here.Must have been a Texas ripoff thing they went nationwide with,along with their Enron scam.

It isn"t OPEC that is controlling the gas prices going up. It is the speculators in NYC that bid both the crude and gasoline the futures up.

I don't know anything about the petroleum industry of the petro markets, but I wonder if the problem isn't so much OPEC manipulating the markets as it is that our Federal government won't allow full exploitation of the oil, natural gas, and coal that we have available here in the US.

It seemed to me that the price of gas went down significantly last summer when the US announced that we were going to drill off-shore and in ANWR. Then, after the election, the US decided that wasn't a good idea and that we are not going to exploit those resources. So now, the foreign oil producers can set their prices again wherever they want them.

Who knows? The news media gives a different reason every time the price changes.

try "oil-price.net". No quotation marks needed. This will tune you on to the price of oil by the hour or day with a yearly forecast. Several weeks ago oil was just 51$ a barrel . Today its 61. I see it everyday and can just about tell what the price will be here. Keep it bookmarked Henry

Price hikes on Public Holidays and weekly cycles even happens down under, Noticed two companies were fined for setting the price of goods,called collusion. OPEC [OPE Countries} sets the price of oil but that's different, isn't it?

In case you haven't noticed the US Dollar has dropped considerably in value so it takes more of them to buy imports to the US LIKE OIL.As the Gov't prints up more $$$ the value Worldwide will go down which means higher prices for us in the USA.The external_link/Pelosi bunch are now borrowing/printing more $$$ a MONTH than had ben previously done in a YEAR.

finally, diesel is cheaper than gas. it has been almost 10 years. i bought my diesel truck in 2000 when diesel was cheaper. i wonder what their reason is for this strange phenomenom? back then when the price of diesel started its rise, they said it was because of the demand for it with so many people buying diesel powered vehicles. has the demand for diesel dropped like it has for gas? i just wish for once the government would tell the people the truth and stop sticking it to the people who pay their salary!
