Thanks for posting the pics- bottle feeding the calf sure brings back memories- my sisters and I raised a jillion of them (with suckbuckets- remember those?) when we had the dairy. Nice tractor (of my favorite shade of green) also.

Great pics! I"ve only fed a calf once or twice, but its always great. We all have pots of gold on our farms, sometimes we just forget they are there.

Bottle feeding calves with a grandaughter ...That was the Last Mortal thing on this EARTH that B-I-Ls' DAD did,age 75,... he always got 3 day old dairy calves to feed up And was doing that when he had cerebral hemmorage , (severe Massive Stroke)... He and My neice of about 15 were each finishing bottle feeding 2 of 4 calves ..... Becky said they were just talking about kid stuff ,and other things such as ,what to name the calves he had just got .., When Grampa Roy stopped in mid sentence as if to clear his throat or cough , then leaned over against Becky , who.
, THEN helped him over to a bale of Hay and leaned back against the rear wheel of the New Ford tractor granpa Roy had bought 5 yrs before..He was gone to the Fertile
Heavens when EMTs got there in 20 minutes or less .... in My opinion , and as One who knew him well , it was a wonderful way to spend the last minutes of life ....

Great pics. Some times I think we need to slow down and look at the simple thigs in life to appreciate what we have.Especially at this time of year when every thing is go-go.Thanks

That is a good way to go. Doing what you love, being with someone you love, and no pain.

We had a neighbor die on his Farmall out in the feild, think he was cultivating. The funeral home director told us (while helping us plan Grandma's funeral) he looked like he stopped at the end of the feild to admire the sunset, and that was the last thing he ever saw. Another great way to go.

Like MTC said ... We need to take time and smell the roses .... there is so much around you that you really don't see ... till you slow down and smell the roses...

THANKS again for the GREAT Pictures ...Mark
