Well I saw a tractor and soilfinisher running today. I heard a couple of people were running NH3. I gave the fertilizer plant the ok to start running dap and potash on friday. Looked like we were headed to the field finally. I was thinking I needed to do some serious looking tomorrow and by late saturday I hoped to find a place to start working and get the planter running, WRONG, we are in the middle of a thunderstorm right now. Looks like we could get a substantial amount of rain so I have no idea when we may get back in. I dont ever remember a year when we started planting as late as we will get to now. I remember finishing pretty late but we always got started before this. We need to get the corn planted the sooner the better.

send some of that rain to northwest wisconsin ,we've had about a half inch in the last month or so,I'm running out of hay , I've had the cattle on pasture for a week, but not much there, have a good one, hope it dry's out for you.

I understand Bill. Near Kankakee it's the same way, only a few people got started that's about it. Last night and today so far had another 6 tenths, didn't see any water sitting anywhere but it won't take much more to do it. Right now it's starting to sprinkle again. I hope it rains in July and August when we need it most!!

That rain is better than the 3 inches of snow that we received yesterday. Weather office sure screwed up with yesterday and today's forecasts. Forecast at 6am yesterday was a high of 10degrees c with a 30% chance of showers. Temp at 6am was 9 c. Rain started at 7am and turned to snow at 10am. At 6pm temp was +1c with 3 inches of heavy wet snow on the ground. Over night temp droped to -3c Todays forecast was for a high of 10c it reached +1c. NH3 wagons out in the fields wont be moving for at least a week. Location is central Saskatchewan

It's the same way over here in northeast Missouri, Bill. We were about two or three days away from running hard and got another rain last night. Looks like it will be another week again. Last year was like this around here but we would get inches at a time instead of tenths. But the ground is saturated and it's still about as wet as it can get. Things need to happen soon. Mike
