Lost two neighbors

to accidents. One lived just two houses away and baled grass on my property. He was only 55 yrs old. He was out riding his motercycle sat.night about 7:30 pm and ran into the back of a piece of farm equipment being pulled down the road, apparently he was blinded by the sun and never seen it.Only three miles from his house and it was the same guy that rents his land that he ran into. The other neighbor lives over the hill and his property abuts mine. He was killed Friday A.M. when his tractor rolled over while moving round bales and pinned him under the machine-dead before the parimedics got there.
So keep a heads up out there-it"s a dangerous world out there.
 
There are some folks out there who will rant and rave that there is no such thing as an accident, that most of these incidents are the result of either carelessness or negligence on the part of one party or another.

I don't subscribe to that theory. While a large number of what we call accidents CAN be prevented, there are some cases in which exercising due dilligence will NOT change the outcome. We need to STAY aware that some activities, such as farming, have inherent dangers, and always be on the alert for dangerous situations. On the occasions in which even those sort of measures fail, we can only pray for the victims and their families.
 
accidents happen for a reason and most times we don't understand them reasons, and some times we figure them out after the fact.

One of the tests of responsibility is the ability to recognize a problem before it becomes an emergency.
