Good man lost last week

Good morning.

Been a while since I"ve been on here so I haven"t had a chance to post. We lost a good friend last week here in S. Ohio. His name was Harold Ross. For many many years he was our local John Deere Dealer. He was a founding member of the Ohio Two Cylincer club, an avid antique John Deere collector, a great friend to the community, a great friend, and a good man. He will be missed. His son organized a tribute for him on the day of his funeral. Several of his friends brought their tractors to the funeral home and then escorted him to the cemetary. I took my 720 and joined the line. Despite the fact that we sat through a downpour the entire time, it was an experience I won"t soon forget. The picture is of Harold on the left with John Smiley on the right. The 520 in the background was sold by Harold to John"s dad. God bless.

Truly people like him will be missed> seems like most of our current generation (50ish) is just to busy to do the things that these people did by working reasonable hours and still enjoying the company of friends! We all need to follow the example of those that came before us and get back to the priorities that they had! Sorry for your loss.

Besides the goodness and friendship we lose when members of his generation pass on, we lose a boat load of knowledge. Sorry for the loss.

Sure hate to hear that. I've known Harold for many years. Bought one of my first antique tractors, a 1929 10-20 McCormick Deering, from him 20 plus years ago at his dealership. The last chance I got to speak with him was at the Ohio Two-Cylinder Show. Glad I had the time to visit with him. It was always a pleasure!
