1993 Chevy truck front brake trouble

I have a 1993 Chevy 1500 work truck, the front calipar on the right side will not relax after putting on the brakes. I have replaced both front calipars and master cylinder but front right brake will not let go. Any thoughts on what may be the problem. Thanks for any help.

Most likely, your flexible hose to the caliper is bad. It has collapsed inside and will not let the pressure off or the fluid return to the master cylinder.

You may need to replace the rubber brake hose. I had this happen on an older chevy truck and what happened was a piece of the hose liner had come loose and was acting like a check valve and keeping the right front locked so tight that after replacing the calipers, roters and pads I couldn"t move the truck. I had to remove the caliper after bleeding the pressure off and locked it down on a wire brush handle to drive it to a repair shop. They told me when I dropped it off that it was a hose problem and I really didn"t believe it. I was tired of spending money on parts with no results so told them to just fix it. They replaced the two front hoses I paid them about$75.00 each for hoses that I could have picked up for about $10.00 each at the parts store. Was pretty mad at first about the cost then thought about the fact that I wasn"t paying too much for the hose what I was doing was paying for the expertise to know what part to change. Brakes worked fine, and I drove the truck many more miles. This may not be your problem but I would pick up the new hoses and give it a try.

I agree with the others your hose is bad BTDT and did as you did, new caliper, new master and still not fixed replaced the hose and all was well. Sure wish I had done the hose first because it would have saved a lot of $$$

check the pins(two bolts) it slides on they could just be gummed up. prolly not since you have replaced the caliper but its worth a check.

Quick way to check for a bad hose is crack open the bleeder on that caliper when it"s still dragging-if fluid squirts out, you"ve got a collapsed hose.

Replace the rubber hose, it has collapsed internally and has created a check valve in that line.

Rule of thumb is if you replace one caliper replace them both and same goes for the hoses. The new part will withstand more pressure causing more stress on the older part causing it to blow possibly.

Brakes are the most important system on any moving vehicle or piece of equipment. First thing they taught us in our freshman highschool shop class is don't start it until you know how to shut it down or stop it from rolling.
