Planter horsepower

I have been looking for a good used White 6 row 30" planter, but haven't had much luck. Have found several 12 row units but was curious as to the horsepower requirments. What is the HP needed for each row unit, both standard and no till?

I do not know about the horsepower requirement, but, I know of a white 6-30. Don't know where in Kansas you are, but, this one is in Plymouth Nebraska. Greg

Our nieghbor has used a 4020 dualled for years with no problem. Get the twelve row as timelininess is critical.

Since you are not ripping up the soil in either application, it should not take much power. Are you talking about a pull type planter or a 3pt hitch model? The reason I ask is the 3pt models might require some muscle to lift and in that case a real small tractor might not be able to do it.
