trailer tires

Well one of the chinese tires on my trailer is going bad. I'm trying to reach the manufacter to see what they will do. Supposed to be a recall on some of them. Any body out there running light truck tires on their trailers? I have 15 inch 6 ply tires now. Would they hold up better than what is availible with the chinese junk?
Thanks,Barry

My neighbor had some of the foreign tires(seem to recall it was made in India) blow out on his camper. Ruined the fender. He contacted the supplier in California. They replaced all 4 tires and paid for the damage to his camper. About 2 weeks later his brother came to visit and had the same tires on his camper. Same thing happened. Supplier stood behind them also. Might be the same brand as yours.

run an LT235/75r16 light truck tire on it, in as straight a tread pattern as possible (ex Mesa AP). This will be a Load Range C 6 ply rated tire-you will be hard pressed to find ore than a 6 ply 15" tire.
Do not run any P-metric truck size, they will only be load range B

I try hard to find cloth belted or bias ply tires for my trailers. I have found that after a few years the radial tires crack some and water gets to the steel belts then they rust and tend to start breaking apart. I can usually get better than 10-15 years out of bias tires. I have bought regular steel belt trailer tires for a few of my trailers because of cost and availability and they work for about 5-6 years. My main concerns are that they are trailer tires and have the appropriate weight rating. Seems like truck tires tend to sway more and look kinda funny.
I have also found that the load range letter doesn’t mean much, I’ve seen a wide variety of actual pounds weight rating on the same letter range tire. I go by the total capable weight rating of my axles and make sure the tires are more.

I put bias ply 15 inch tires on my trailer last fall. 8 ply. Tires were made for just trailer use. I paid something like $73.00 each. I believe they were made here in PA.
If you would like more info. let me know. I had no trouble finding this type of tire.
