Choice between to shows

Red Power Round Up 6 1/2 hrs. or Half Century Of Progress 5 1/2 hrs. from home.Not a big difference in distance.Which one of the two would you go to and why? Or is their another major national show that you would recommend this summer before Labor Day.

No comment on the ones you mentioned,BUT,I've always wanted to get down to the one in Lawerenceburg Tennessee. We ALMOST went a few years ago. We were down that way,but Hart Parr #3 was at a show up in Illinois that same weekend,so we headed home and went to that show to see it. Saw some Illinois Farm Stock pulling too,so well worth it. Just curious,have you been to Buckley or Oakley right here close to home? A couple of darned nice big shows.

Been to Oakley last 2 years.Darn good show.Buckley is so far away bout an hour more to half century.Just thought I would take a nice road trip this year.

Just an FYI, Buckley and Oakley are on separate weekends this year, just because of the difference in the way we select our dates on the calendar. Oakley (MMOGTA)is featuring IH/Farmall this year on August 21,22,23. Buckley is the weekend before, Aug 13-16. Probably won"t happen again for quite a while.

Just seen an add for Half-Century and they claim the Big Bud 747 is supposed to make an appearance there. I gotta go, somebodys coming to look at my boat

Half Century is bi-annual, so if you miss it you gotta wait 2 years. Haven't been to RPR, but if you like field demos, Half Century is a great place to go. At the last show we plowed till we couldn't plow no more, and still didn't get done. Lots of other stuff too, of course.

You talking the National Red Power, or Michigan Red Power ?

National is in Madison.

Oakly is IH this year.

You said you would like to "take a nice road trip this year". I can't think of a nicer road trip than coming to Wisconsin in July to the Red Power Roundup. I'm taking my H and #8 plow and it will be nice to visit with you. At nite you can go to "Franks" and enjoy a Wisconsin bratwurst (with kraut) and a Leinenkugel beer.
Or you can go get a fancy 7-course meal there; that's the brat and 6 Leinies.

Thanks, that's good info. Been to Oakley many times, never been to Buckley. Should be able to make both!!! No job to get in the way!!!
