Does anyone know the value of this sickle bar mower? the paint is ok, the mower is excellent, knife and guards are good/very good, new dolly wheel tire too. Would come with all original hydraulic lifting components.

My sickle is rusting away outside. Never could use but couple of minutes before clogging. Maybe shouldn't a been cutting weeds. Rotary bush hog type much better or 3 blade belly mower even more better. Some people like sickles, not me. Dave

Gave $25 for mine but it needed a sickle, a rear tire, pitman, and belt. Have a couple of hundred in it but it cut grass where a New Holland Haybine wouldn't. Buy it, they are fun to run. I mount mine on a '41 B Farmall.

I bought mine for $100...it has no paint to speak of, and the tire was so badly gashed, it was nearly two seperate pieces. It was also 500 feet from anything resembling a road, and in order to load it, Sam and I had to fire up a tractor that, by many standards, wasn't going to run. Then came the joy of loading it on my trailer. But we won't go there.

It did, however, come with as many sickles as I could carry away with me, and as near as I can tell, the original pitman. Its also not stuck.

Its worth whatever you want to pay for it. I later returned to the same farm, and picked up their 6-foot ARPS backblade.

I've seen maybe 25 of those, owned 3. Might have been 2 that worked well. The rest were clogging garbage no worth taking home.

I have one I restored....bought it for $125...another couple hundred in new sections, ledger plates, pitman bearing, paint ect...works good...made a bracket to put a cylinder on to lift....this was before I bought a haybine...now it just sets around...would like to hook it up this summer and try it more...maybe on second cut...
